Composition it the organization of design elements into one unified form. Light can have its own composition, for example projected patterns or beams in a hazed environment. However, more often its main function is to light one object and not another, or to light three-dimensional objects to make them look three-dimensional, or to selectively reveal actors and stage objects in a good relationship to each other and the background. This is called compositional lighting.
